How Does It Work?

Step 2: Your friend creates a Borrowell account and checks their free credit score.
Step 3: You'll receive your $5 reward in the form of a gift card. You can choose a gift card from major stores and restaurants like Amazon, Starbucks and Uber.

Refer-A-Friend Program Terms and Conditions
As a Refer-a-Friend member (a “Referrer”), you are subject to Borrowell’s Terms of Use and Borrowell’s Privacy Policy (both available on our website), as well as the following additional terms and conditions for Borrowell’s Refer-a-Friend program (the “Program”). By generating, sharing or using your unique referral link, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Eligibility. Eligibility is limited to individuals only. The Program cannot be used by businesses for affiliate lead generation in Borrowell’s sole discretion.
Qualified Referral. A Qualified Referral is defined as a person who successfully signs up for a Borrowell Free Credit Score account with a valid email address and receives their free credit score (a "Referee") by clicking your unique referral link within the period defined by Borrowell. You are limited to one Qualified Referral for each Referee; in other words, any additional signups made by a Referee are not counted as additional Qualified Referrals.
Referral Rewards. You will earn a $5 CAD referral reward- or such other amount as Borrowell displays or offers at the time of your referral - on each Qualified Referral in the form of an e-gift card (“Referral Reward(s)”) subject to the conditions set out in these Terms and Conditions.
Conditions of Redemption. As a condition of the redemption of a Referral Reward, both the Referrer’s and Referee’s Borrowell accounts must be active and in good standing within 30 calendar days from the Referee signing up and receiving their free credit score (the “Referral Event”). “Good standing” means that the Referrer’s and Referee’s Borrowell accounts are not blocked, deleted or deactivated. The Referee and the Referrer cannot be the same person (for example, by using a different email address).
Reward Payments. You will be able to view your Referral Reward(s) along with the reward status in the rewards dashboard on the Borrowell website and/or mobile application. The status of your Referral Reward may be (a) “pending” which means the Referral Reward will be available for redemption on or around 30 calendar days from the Referral Event, subject to the conditions of redemption set out in these Terms and Conditions; (b) “cancelled” which means that your Qualified Referral was not eligible to be redeemed; and/or (c) the specific amount of the Referral Reward which is added to your rewards balance and available for redemption. Once you redeem your Referral Reward(s), you will have 365 days to choose an e-gift card from select retailers. Redemption applies to your entire rewards balance as shown in your rewards dashboard. Unredeemed rewards will continue to accumulate until you choose to redeem them.
Tax Implications. As a Referrer, you are responsible for any and all tax liability resulting from Referral Rewards.
Third-Party e-Gift Cards. E-gift cards issued under the Program are provided by a third-party retailer or gift card provider and are subject to that provider’s own terms and conditions, including as to expiry and use.
No Spam. When sharing your unique referral link, you agree to not misrepresent Borrowell’s products and services, and you must comply with all applicable law including but not limited to all up-to-date anti-spam laws (i.e. CASL). For example, emails must be created and distributed in a personal manner and bulk email distribution is strongly discouraged. Any distribution of your referral link that could constitute unsolicited commercial email or "spam" under any applicable law or regulation is expressly prohibited and will be grounds for immediate termination of your Borrowell account and exclusion from the Program.
Fraudulent or Questionable Activity. If Borrowell suspects that the Referrer and/or Referee is using the Program in a questionable manner (including suspected fraud or gaming of the system) or breaches any of these terms and conditions or is in violation of any applicable law or regulation, Borrowell may do any of the following:
Close the Borrowell account(s) of any Referrer and/or Referee;
Withhold or deny any Referral Reward(s) or request reimbursement of any Referral Reward(s); and/or
Limit the number of Referees the Referrer may claim Referral Rewards on.
Borrowell shall determine such questionable activity in its sole discretion.
Right to Cancel Program or Change Terms. Borrowell reserves the right to cancel, suspend, withdraw or amend the Program in any way, without prior notice or obligation.
