Borrowell follows certain legal and regulatory requirements about how we collect, store and retain your information. This involves retaining your information for a certain amount of time to meet these requirements in accordance with our retention policy, even if you are no longer a Borrowell member.
Our retention policy sets out our protocols and specifies retention periods which are based on our legitimate purposes for retaining such information. For example, records of Borrowell credit inquiries are retained in the event that they may later be contested as fraudulent and evidence is required. We are also required to retain information as a result of anti-money laundering laws and contractual obligations.
You may withdraw your consent to our collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information at any time, subject to contractual and legal restrictions and reasonable notice, by emailing or writing to us at the contact information set out in the “Contact Us” section.
If you choose to not provide us with certain Personal Information, we may not be able to provide you with certain products and services, or access to your Borrowell Account dashboard. For example, during the term of a Credit Builder product/service, you may not withdraw your consent to our ongoing disclosure of your personal information to credit reporting agencies such as Equifax, otherwise it will not be possible to continue providing the product/service.
We will act on your instructions as quickly as possible but there may be certain uses of your information that we may not be able to stop immediately.
For more information about how to withdraw your consent, please visit our Help Centre.
